About seventy-five years ago, the United Nations (UN) came into being with fifty countries later on Poland also become a member and now has 193. United States is a chief supporter of the UN; however, it struggles for its survival and trying best to cope with China despite having much chaos. Due to Corona Virus COVID-19, including America, a threat of disorder is pondering on them. The rising and middling powers will face a debacle if their chief supporter America wrenches back.
Although the UN is considered non-influential and enraging, it becomes hypotactic and supports some countries. It believed they are peacemakers and keepers; however, they failed to ensure it in many regions having the recent example of Chinese and Indians dispute. These organizations are neither unable to ensure peace nor they can prevent a war.
COVID-19 also emerges as a pandemic which is still incurable and calls for global treatments and vaccinations to help find solutions to prevent it. It is like global warming, which is also alarming.
To ensure an unbiased system is easier to say than actually to implement it. Actual threat is the power and financial race between America and China. Along with this, President Donald Trump’s behaviour on many crucially important matters is childish and unacceptable. However, the world order is now not standing at a point of return. For decades, third world countries depend upon America’s aid, yet they can create systems that can help them to less dependent on aid as Germany and France established an alliance that paved the way for other countries also to work on multilateral bases. Nevertheless, America is still in power, and many depend upon it, but the alliance of America, Japan, India, and Australia is to overcome the surpassing forces of China. However, countries must need to know how to stand without America.
On the other hand, China is in power, having four head representatives in the UN and contributing a large amount in its budget. China proves its sovereignty if other countries do not work. Some think that middling powers is also a game of America until it comes under someone else’s leadership other than Donald Trump.
UN as a representative is mere a game in the hands of some powers. Dominant ones are taking advantage of it and the subservient having nothing. America and China two big dominant states reflect their visions, resistance, and sovereignty. However, America is not as powerful as once it was due to Chinas’ dominance. Many lobbies are also come into existence after seeing transitions in major power shifts. However, China can sustain its stature after the collapse of the economy caused by COVID-19 pandemic. America is unable to gain power again until Donald Trump’s presence though it is struggling hard to recoup its lost glory.
Once considered the godfather of all the countries, America is now facing many internal and external challenges. China, on the contrast, is much more powerful and stable. Americas’ dwindling situation is dangerous for those who heavily depends on its aid to sustain. Rising and middling countries should work hard to stand without the aid of America. Third world countries can stand without the help of America if they can find alternatives. UN and other organizations are also going out of the hand of America, yet American’s are hopeful of gaining supremacy again under the leadership of someone else.
