It was told a long time ago that the colour of the tigers was orange without any stripes. Though they didn’t have stripes, it didn’t mean that they were tame. Even though the tiger was a very wild animal, and he was proud of his shiny golden fur. One day, the tigers saw a man cutting rattan in the forest. The tiger roared to scare him. ‘’I will eat you,‘’ he said. ‘’Go ahead,’’ answered the man bravely. This made the tiger bewildered. He had never seen a prey that answered him so confidently before. He asked the man curiously, ‘’You’re strange. Do you want to die?’’. ‘’A disaster will occur in this forest soon,’’ answered the man calmly. “How do you know?” asked the tiger. “Don’t you know? Soon, the flood will come and sweep the earth. Everything will be destroyed by water, including a tiger-like you.” “So, why are you cutting rattan?” asked the tiger.

“I am trying to save my friend. When the flood comes, I will put them on a high tree so that they won’t be swept away by the flood.” The tiger thought for a while. “Then make me your friend. “He said. “I promise I won’t eat you. Not now. Not even after the flood.” “Hmm. Let me see,” answered the man pretended. “I don’t think you can bear the condition of being tied on a high tree.” “I can do that.” said the tiger. “I don’t want to die.” “Alright then,” said the man. So, the tiger was tied to a high tree. He kept his patience being tied to a tree for days. But, the flood hadn’t come as expected, and he never saw the man again. Finally, the tiger realized that the man had tricked him. With all of his strength, he tried to release himself, and finally, he succeeded. However, the rattan left black stripes on his body. Because of that, the Tigers now have black strips on their beautiful golden fur.

Moral: Never feel proud of your physical beauty
