A long time ago, it was told that rabbits had long tails and the crocodile had tongues until a historical event happened and changed everything. One day, the rabbit was drinking water from the river. From afar, a crocodile watched over him. The crocodile wanted to eat him. But the crocodile could not rush as rabbits were challenging to catch. The rabbits liked to leap. The next day, the rabbit went back to the river to drink water. He did not realize that the crocodile was waiting for him in the muddy water. When the rabbit was about to drink the water, the crocodile pounced on him. In a blink of an eye, the rabbit moved into the crocodile’s mouth.
The rabbit was scared. Yet, he did not stop his struggle to escape from the crocodile mouth. In the smelly and dark mouth of the crocodile, the rabbit said, “I am not afraid of you, crocodile. I am only afraid of big mouth animals. Not of someone like you with a small mouth.” The crocodile was very angry hearing the rabbit’s words; he wanted to prove that his mouth was big if he opened it. So the crocodile opened his mouth as wide as he could. The rabbit did not waste that opportunity. He jumped out of the crocodile’s mouth. Accidentally, the crocodile’s tongue was torn by the rabbit’s sharp nails. The crocodile closed his mouth to hold the pain nut cut the rabbit’s long tail in the process. Finally, the rabbit was freed from the crocodile. Yet, he had to lose his long tail. Because of his stupidity, the crocodile had to lose his prey and his tongue too. Since that, the rabbit has had a short tail, and the crocodile doesn’t have a tongue.
Moral: Haste makes waste
