And the rise of independent provincial leadership, such as in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh, has led to stronger democratic engagement. While some argue that a powerful central government ensures stability, history proves that excessive centralization has fueled resentment and separatist movements. Therefore, true national unity comes not from coercion but from empowerment, where provinces feel included in the federation, strengthening Pakistan’s democratic foundations and long-term stability.
